The Power of Poses and Pencils

  • 2C Yoga 720 16th Avenue South Nampa, ID, 83651 United States (map)

Join Jennifer Varner for an hour of connecting journaling with yoga poses. Jennifer has been a writing teacher for the past 10 years and inspires young minds to give technology a rest and put their pencils to paper. We will practice fundamental poses while pausing for reflection along the way. We will try a technique called "sketchnotes"--a way to mindmap with words and images. This technique can become a vision board--a way to express an intention or manifest new pathways for 2022. These techniques are simple, fun, and inspiring and a practice you can carry forward to be more intentional.

Jennifer began her yoga journey nearly 25 years ago when she was the Wellness Director at the Downtown Boise YMCA. She took her first classes to help with grief over the death of her dad and grandmother within the same year. The decision led to a lifelong dance with the practice of yoga for so many reasons. For nearly 20 years, yoga helped her with depression, strength, community, a quieter and sharper mind, and more flexible body.

Jennifer is an elementary school teacher, mom lifelong learner, and has healed into a new version of strength. She earned a 200-hour yoga instructor certification through Breathe for Change. She truly understands that all ages, stages and abilities can benefit from the power of yoga.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a journal and whatever writing supplies inspire you.
