This course will introduce a teaching philosophy that will help you to create a more welcoming and inclusive classroom for students who don't look, live or think like you...which is everyone!
We are going to spend time challenging our biases and assumptions in an environment free from judgment or blame. This is a safe space. Be prepared to share, be vulnerable, and be open to other ways of thinking and doing.
Through it all, we will have pose instruction, and analysis where we look at various poses that can be problematical for a variety of students and then break them down to see how we can make them more accessible.
Created by Teresa Crowley and Nicole Beall, the owners of 2C Yoga, this course will give you the tools to teach to and welcome a more diverse group of students with confidence.
Teresa and Nicole opened 2C Yoga Studio with the goal of creating a studio that welcomed students who didn’t feel like they “fit” in a yoga studio. They both experienced body shaming and racism in the yoga world and have worked to create an accessible and diverse yoga space. Together, Teresa and Nicole have taught over 17,000 students in a way that constantly challenges biases, empowers those with physical limitations, and is trauma-informed and they want to show you how to do the same!
